TACTO is an independent, legally constituted, non-government organization with its registered office in Arusha, Tanzania. The association fosters working relationships with any or all organizations or group of persons dealing in cultural tourism or similar activities in Tanzania or elsewhere to empower the productive poor to transform the lives of their families through the development of sustainable micro-enterprises in the way of cultural tourism products for sale to tourists
To create a wide base of voluntary members and provide services through lobbying, advocacy and representation to establish a credible and predictable business environment in the country, the region and globally, for Cultural Tourism Operators to compete and prosper, hence contribute to poverty reduction.
TACTO holds vision of becoming an effective cultural tourism organization ensuring sustainable cultural tourism development and management for poverty reduction in Tanzania.
To represent and present the views of members and to co-operate with the Government and other stakeholders, local authorities and other bodies essential to the Cultural Tourism Industry.
To promote competitiveness of Cultural Tourism Operators through capacity building interventions.
